Emergency response efforts to assist the people of India affected by the recent COVID-19 wave that has crippled the nation.

For the last two weeks of March 2021, India is going through its worse second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. The country is currently facing an unprecedented surge in Covid-19 cases, and the consequences are fatal in terms of hundred thousand of daily Covid-19 positive cases and thousands of daily deaths. In this situation, several Indian states announced the complete lockdown, while some states have announced partial lockdown.

Adding 350,000 new cases each day. The country surpassed 17 million cases. India’s healthcare system has collapsed. Hospitals have run out of oxygen, beds, and other basic resources essential for the fight against COVID-19. India’s government is pleading internationally for help. In this critical situation, we are providing treatment to Covid-19 infected patients at Al- Shifa Multi-Specialty Hospital, which is run by the Human Welfare Trust and at other partner hospitals across various states in India. The hospitals are in urgent need of some medical equipment in order to provide proper and on-time treatment to Covid-19 patients.
