Proposal for New Muslim Community Services: Laos (An Islamic Center comprising a settlement for the New Muslims, Prayer Room Including some Da‘wah activities).

We are new Muslims from Laos, operating under Laos New Muslim Association, though not officially established because the law in Laos just permits only one organization or association representing Muslims in Laos just as it applies to all other religious organizations in the country including the Buddhists.

We have formed this informal Laos New Muslim Youth Association to cater especially, for the New Muslims whose number is steadily increasing daily, but has no place to assemble in order to practice and learn something about their religion, as the existing Muslim bodies do not cater for the needs of New Muslims.

As mentioned above, Alhamdulillah by the grace of Allah and through our silent Da‘wah mission around here, the number of these new Muslims keeps on increasing mostly in Oudomxai Province where they found a lot of difficulties to practice their religion. In addition to that these New Muslims are faced with backlash from their community that they have been forcefully excommunicated from their present villages and provinces after the confirmation of their conversion. Thus, they find it very difficult to practice their religion freely over there. As we are writing this letter, there are already a few of them who have moved to settle voluntarily in IE Lai Tai village, Naxaithong District, near the Capital, Vientiane which we intend to turn it into as a Muslim village. Yet there are many more, who like to join them in this village, but are left behind due to lack of funds.

For the reason mentioned above, we have been searching a place for them to settle, and Alhamdulillah we have come across the one cited below which we have found suitable and as mentioned here before, there already some new Muslims living there. The Land price is about $ 5,800 per 20 x 20 sq meter. 

Since we cannot afford to purchase this land in order to establish a Muslim village, we would like our fellow Muslims to assist us in this regard.

Looking forward to receiving your generous assistance, particularly, in this blessed month Of Ramadan, so that we can establish our Own Darul Arqam in Laos that caters for the needs of new Muslims.
