Grounds for the Project

Every year in the Levant, harsh and severe cold comes along with winter. Winter is loaded with financial burdens, health problems, high and frequent expenses of the growing restrictions policies. Jerusalem is home to more than 80,000 families, most of whom are below the poverty line. It is hoped that through the restriction policies they will be forced to leave their land and give up the sanctity of one and a half billion Muslims. It's a glimmer of light in the darkness. for the neediest people of Jerusalem, this campaign may be the only beacon of hope for a better life during the winter season.

The idea of the campaign

"Qabas” the name of the campaign was taken from the verses of the Koran

إِذْ رَأَىٰ نَارًا فَقَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ امْكُثُوا إِنِّي آنَسْتُ نَارًا لَّعَلِّي آتِيكُم مِّنْهَا بِقَبَسٍ أَوْ أَجِدُ عَلَى النَّارِ هُدًى

where the word appeared in two places in the verse. When he saw a fire and said to his family " Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance." Surat Taha [verse 10]

إِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَهْلِهِ إِنِّي آنَسْتُ نَارًا سَآتِيكُم مِّنْهَا بِخَبَرٍ أَوْ آتِيكُم بِشِهَابٍ قَبَسٍ لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَصْطَلُونَ

‘‘ when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves." Surah Al-An'am [verse 7] Where the word came in the context of affability and compassion, the Qabas is a flame of fire taken on the tip of a wooden stick for heating or lighting.

The objective of this campaign 

Qabas (Torch) is the name giving to this campaign,  so we will provide our people in Al Quds with a torch that supplies them with hope and light in the face of darkness and injustice against them, so that we can contribute every year to secure their needs in the winter season,  we will alleviate its cruelty and stinging cold, and tell them that there are brothers who support them and support their steadfastness

The Aim of the Project 

1. Support families with their winter needs 2. Protect Al-Quds families from the difficulties of winter 3. Support tradesmen by acquiring the projects equipment needs from merchants in the Old City 4. Support the perseverance and patience of the Al-Quds people 5. Enable Al-Quds families to have peace within their own homes 6. Provide support for Al-Quds families winter needs
