Education is a dream of every student, but this dream should not come with burdens to him or her so that they can learn in a suitable atmosphere

HIGHER education is a door to a brighter future, with which students can dream to secure a better career. While being accepted to a university programme may be a cause for celebration, students from a low-income background are met with a number of barriers. Before setting foot on campus, they are burdened by financial worries such as not being able to afford the entrance fees and travelling cost. Once they are in, it is more challenging to stay.

At some point, like so many families, you and your parents may find yourselves trying to figure out how to make tuition ends meet.

This is the case of our two brothers, Kamal, 25 years, a final-semester engineering student, and Mohssin, 22, a second year engineering student. Both are international students coming from low-income family and struggling for financial support to continue their degree in IIUM. Due to Covid-19 and its unexpected circumstances, the money had saved by Kamal’s family for the registration fees of his last semester, and for the next semester by Mohssin’s parent was spent on family matters.

“I am worried about the tuition fees because if we don't pay we won't be able to complete our degree and get our certificate, said the two students.

That is why we applied for ENSANY CROWDFUNDING,” said Mohssin and Kamal, who do not receive any other sources of funding and have no other way to support their study. This challenge has the potential to become a distraction and worry for our brothers as they are currently have no means to cover tuition fee expenses, they barely have little to pay for transportation, and food. Thus, for the time being Kamal needs to pay an outstanding of RM6,000 And Mohssin needs to pay a due of RM4,000. "Financial statement and certification letter will be provided upon request".
