The story of a refugee mother who suffer her pregnancy and need to pay off hospital expenses

Basma, a 35-year-old pregnant Yemeni mother, woke up on Saturday morning with sever pain after the fetus/child defecates inside his mother's womb, causing her severe pain and doubling the suffering of her birth, so she had no solution but to urgently go to the closest hospital in Kuala Lumpur. In a state of turmoil, anxiety, fear and fatigue, Basma arrived at the hospital accompanied by her husband, who was working in a restaurant with a simple salary, and lost his job due to the crisis of the spread of the Corona epidemic.

The hospital accepted Basma with condition that she pays off the expenses soon

At first, the hospital received Basma, just like any pregnant woman is usually received, However, it was difficult to accept her after the administration knew that they do not have the due cost to conduct the delivery process, instead what the family had is only RM 1,000 which was not sufficient enough as the total cost is exceeding RM 6,500.
The father tried hard to persuade the administration to conduct operation for his wife provided that he would pay them 1,000 ringgit as part of deposit and the rest after would be paid after she gives birth because he had no other choice and because his wife was in a difficult situation and needed to undergo delivery process as soon as possible. The administration understood the matter and accepted Basma in her room for the birth, but on condition that the family need to  pay the remaining amount as soon as possible.

Alhamdulilah, now Basma gave birth to her first child on Saturday morning, 13/06/2019, but her joy was not complete because of her inability to pay her birth dues.

Basma and her husband took refuge in Malaysia since few years ago escaping the ongoing conflict in Yemen. The husband was working as a waiter in a restaurant before he lost his job due to the Corona epidemic, and now they have no financial income to cover any sort of future expenses and other obligations, such as paying the rent and buying food. Now they are devastated with their current situation that beside the aforementioned obligation, the family is burdened with hospital debt and other expenses related to the newborn baby.

The father and the mother are in a difficult situation, and their morale is broken. They have no way out of this crisis, therefore it is a humanitarian call to support them. They can only go out from this stressful situation if you support them. Your donations means a lot in the eyes of the poor mother and the desperate father and also will make better life for the newborn baby.

The family made several calls to find help and pay the debt, luckily some friends could manage to accumulate an amount of RM 2,200 which was paid as an advance to the hospital. However, it is still not sufficient as they need RM 4,730
