I am Ahmed Hasouna, from Rafah, and a displaced person living in the tents of Khan Yunis.

I live with my family in a tent that neither protects from the summer heat nor from the winter cold.

I have two young daughters.

The older one has lost her laughter and the light of her childhood has been extinguished by war. The younger one saw the light under a hail of shells, amidst the tents.

I am trying hard to convey our suffering to the world and to narrate the pain as it is, but my voice alone is not enough. 

Today, I need you more than ever.

Your generosity is the light that dispels the darkness of our fear. It is the warmth that restores safety to my two daughters and grants them a dignified life.
