10 days of blessing and an eternity of rewards!

In a few weeks Muslims all over the world will be celebrating Eid al Adha. A time commemorating the sacrifice of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) when tasked to sacrifice his own son. One of the greatest actions one can do when in this blessed month of Dhul Hijjah is embarking on the Hajj pilgrimage. However, if one is unable to go, the greatest action they can partake in is the Qurbani/Udhiyyah which is the sacrificing of an animal in the name of God. 

People of Gaza strip suffer multiple difficulties when the feast comes

The ongoing conflict and economic crisis in the Gaza strip, the outbreak of corona pandemic this year and its sever consequences on the people of Gaza particularly were a sufficient reason for Palestinian people to be deprived from reviving the Sunnah of sacrificing this year and enjoying the feast of Eid al-adha.

During your wandering in the markets of the sector, you find a lot of citizens gathered around the places designated for the sale of sacrifices within the markets, but many of them content themselves with looking towards the sacrifice of the feast with eyes of sorrow, as if their mouth is saying: "The eye is insight ... and the hand is short." Many of these families are only able to enjoy meat once a year at the time of Eid al-Adha. 

You can help Al Nasr Mosque, to distribute meats to 2800 needy families in Gaza. 

Every year during the blessed Eid Al-Adha feast, the Social Committee in the Neighbourhood Association and Al-Nasr Mosque distributes sacrifice meat to the poorest families in the neighbourhood, which number more than 2,800 families and benefit from the association's services.

This year we will perform Qurbani and aim to reach 2800 of families living in poverty, struggling to survive in conflict zones or suffering as a result of covid-19.  Al Nasr Mosque takes great care to perform Qurbani on your behalf in accordance with the Sunnah. 

Details of Sacrifice/Qurban

As the rewards of doing good deeds during the 10 blessed Days of Dhul Hijjah are increased significantly then we should also give as much as we can in charity. Allah promised forgiveness of our sins if we give in charity and give to the poor and needy. He honoured our charity and described it as a “ beautiful loan to Allah “ to emphasis that we are doing something good that He loves, and that He himself will pay our loan back to us doubled:

“If ye loan to Allah a beautiful loan, He will double it to your (credit), and He will grant you Forgiveness: for Allah is Most Ready to appreciate (service), Most Forbearing.” [Surah At-Taghabun: 17]
