The corona Virus pandemic is a threat to humanity as a whole and the 57 OIC countries have also been exposed to its wrath. The global index has shown that these countries are 50% vulnerable in an event of crisis and less than 20% capable of coping in such a period. The countries have been suffering from high mortality rates, high exposures to risks, vulnerability to conflicts, poor health conditions and lack of adequate infrastructure even in normal times so it can only be imagined how bad they would fare in this current time. 

Collective Solidarity Needed to Fight Against This Pandemic   

The lives of humans have been threatened and millions have seen themselves, victims of this pandemic in one form or the other. To control this pandemic and its effect on us all, there needs to be collective solidarity at a global front. 

With this in mind, the OIC Red Network Emergency Covid19 program has provided a global front which addresses this issue as it aims at reducing the number of lives lost in this pandemic as well as protecting the safety, wellbeing and livelihood of the most vulnerable people. This would be achieved by collaborating with national societies in individual countries to provide medical devices, equipment that would help to strengthen the delivery of health services. 

Despite The Global Response, The Organization Still Needs Capital Backing

Despite the presence of a global response in for of the OIC red network, the organization still needs capital backing and that is where we come in. By donating the most we can afford to in monetary terms. 

Your generous contribution of funds would go into ensuring three factors; Public Health and Nutrition support, social support in form of assisting families and lastly would help to protect the health workers risking their lives in an attempt at rendering services to victims of this pandemic.   

Regarding the Public Health and Nutrition, hygiene kits that contain thirteen essential hygiene equipment such as; shampoo, cologne, hand soap, toothpaste and brush, shaving foam and razor, bleacher, dishwasher liquid and sponge, toilet paper, paper towel and soft soap would be distributed to a hundred thousand families. Similarly, nutritional support would be in the form of meal distribution. For three months, 23,500 people would be able to have 3 meals per day due to your donation. Also, your contribution would go into the creation of 250 teams consisting each of five individuals that would be responsible for conducting 30,000 awareness-raising sessions on COVID-19 for 3 months where paraphernalia such as paper bags, booklets,

magnet and stickers would be shared to attendants. 

As for the provision of social support, your contribution would also go into cash-based assistance. Where 75,000 families and an approximated value of 375,000 people would be given 65USD in the first phase which will fulfil their nutrients need for two weeks. Whereas families with newly born babies would be given one-off assistance of 20USD to ensure sustenance of the baby needs for two weeks also. In addition to that, parcels that contain food items would be distributed to 150,000 families. For this phase, we are requesting you support to raise an amount of $1 Million USD to assist those families and people in need.   

Seeing as the front-liners are risking their lives to safe those of others, it is only fair they are looked out for too. To protect the front-liners masks, gloves, protective suits and other materials would be distributed to 20,000 health workers in state hospitals for 6 weeks.
