Free Housing for Needy Families in Uganda 2023

Problem Statement

Many needy families and elderly people or parents lost their sons in decade-long armed conflict in which about 15thousand people were killed. Some families have become homeless due to the natural disaster such as flood, landslide, and many sons have gone tour urban centers in search for employment.

Yasiva Charity Organisation Limited has come out to support the old people by building for them Free houses. But the home holds many problems. Currently it has one-store building and10 other huts with the capacity of 65 people. But now only 35 helpless elderly people between the ages of 55 to 85 have been living, and other are applying to join the home.

Though the needy families and elderly people have rooms to live in, the home lacks basic provisions needed to live a healthy life.The elderly people are not receiving supports from any government bodies. The major problems seen in the home are:

1. In the lack of mosquito nets, proper mattresses and blankets, they frequently suffer from various health problems such as cough, cold, fever, and skin infections.

2. Lack of pure drinking water, the elderly people are suffering from various waterborne diseases.

3. They lack timely health checkup. So, many are found suffering from fatal diseases.

4. The needy families and elderly people lack sufficient nutritious food.

5. The needy families elderly people are using firewood to cook food. They don’t have improved cooking stoves. So, their huts are full of smokes which have caused health problem such as asthma and cough.

Objectives

The over all objective of the project is to support the elderly people to live a human life and its specific objectives are:

• To improve the physical houses for elderly people

• To provide timely medical support.

• To support through giving them food.

Proposed Project Budget 5000US$ for One House and 15,000$USD for 3 Houses
