"Whoever saves one life, it is as if he had saved mankind entirely." (Qur'an, 5:32)

The Jerusalemite family of Mahmoud Abdul Raouf Hamad lives in a small, 54-square-meter house in dire conditions. The home consists of a single bedroom, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Due to its poor state, it is barely livable. The father, Mahmoud, sustained an injury to his leg caused by the Israeli occupation, resulting in a 70% disability that prevents him from working and providing for his family of seven.

The house suffers from severe humidity, decayed wooden doors, outdated sanitary and electrical systems, and broken aluminum windows. The family has requested to add a second bedroom for the children, as the entire family currently sleeps in one room. There is an open outdoor area adjacent to the house that could be used for the much-needed expansion.

Allah says in the Qur'an:
"The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] that sprouts into seven ears, with a hundred grains in each ear." (Qur'an, 2:261)

Project Details:

The current home consists of:

• One bedroom: 10 square meters
• Living room and kitchen combined: 40 square meters
• Bathroom: 4 square meters

Proposed Solutions:

• Expansion: Adding a second bedroom for the children.
• Insulation: Sealing the roof and walls to eliminate humidity.
• Renovation: Replacing old and damaged components, including wooden doors, metal windows, and sanitary systems.
• Modernization: Installing a new electrical system and repainting the home.

The total cost of the project is $24,154, covering:

1. Adding a 16-square-meter insulated roofed room.
2. Replacing damaged components (wooden doors, windows, sanitary systems).
3. Installing new electrical systems.
4. Painting, tiling, and other interior works.
