These heroes, who spend their nights saving lives, are themselves displaced—having lost their homes and belongings like so many others. They are now facing a different kind of fight for survival.

The financial reality for these professionals has become nearly impossible to bear. Salaries are irregular, often arriving only every two months, and even then, they rarely exceed 30% of their original pay. With a staggering 1000% inflation rate, the purchasing power of these small amounts has effectively vanished. This has left these dedicated men and women unable to provide the most basic essentials, or even a small moment of joy—like new clothes—for their children.

We believe that a healthcare worker burdened by the worry of their children’s dignity and basic needs cannot focus entirely on the lives in their hands. Your support for their children’s essentials is more than just charity; it is a direct investment in a doctor’s resilience, ensuring they can remain fully present for their humanitarian mission.

A Strategic Partnership: DAAR PAL & Mofeed Foundation

This project is a joint initiative between DAAR PAL and Mofeed Foundation. By combining DAAR PAL’s field agility with the professional legacy of the Mofeed Foundation, we ensure that this support is delivered with absolute integrity. This initiative is built on a core principle: the psychological resilience of a doctor or nurse is deeply tied to the stability and dignity of their household.

Empowerment through the Dignity of Choice

Our goal is to support 200 families of Al-Shifa staff members who are facing severe economic hardship.

• The Voucher System: We reject the model of pre-packed aid. Instead, we provide shopping vouchers valued at $200 per family. This empowers parents to choose clothing that fits their children’s needs and preferences, restoring a sense of agency and normalcy that has been lost during the displacement.
• Transparent Selection: In full coordination with the Al-Shifa administration, we prioritize lower-income staff, administrative workers, and those who are currently displaced or have lost their primary residences. Every beneficiary is selected based on a strict vulnerability assessment.
• Timely Distribution: Vouchers are distributed by mid-Ramadan, ensuring families have enough time to shop before the holiday rush, preserving the tradition of preparation and joy.

The Reality of Hyper-Inflation

To our international supporters, we offer a transparent breakdown of the $200 allocation:

• The "Per Person" Perspective: Gaza families are large, averaging 6 to 7 members. At $200 per household, this equates to approximately $30 per person for a full Eid outfit (including shoes)—a modest amount for a moment of dignity.
• Economic Blockade: Due to the total collapse of local manufacturing and the blockade on imports, clothing prices have skyrocketed by 800% to 1000%. A basic outfit now costs ten times its pre-war value.
• Operational Integrity ($3,000): This covers the secure printing of fraud-proof vouchers, coordination with verified local vendors, and the logistics of safe distribution within a conflict zone.

More Than a Garment

Supporting these families is a direct investment in the morale of the medical frontline. This project is 100% Zakat-eligible and serves the most honorable among us—those who have remained steadfast when the world turned away.
