Help Open the Doors of Hope for the First Specialized Down Syndrome Center in the Northern and Central West Bank

Years of dedication, perseverance, and community support have brought us to this pivotal moment.

Today, the new building of Al Raheem Association – Friends of Down Syndrome is almost ready to become a safe and welcoming home for children and their families—a place where they can receive specialized education, rehabilitation, and opportunities to thrive. Yet despite the building being largely completed, it still cannot welcome its first child.

The reason is not unfinished classrooms or facilities, but the absence of the essential external infrastructure required by the competent authorities before the center can legally and safely begin operating.

These critical works include:

Construction of the septic tank and the external sewage network.

Completion of the external water, sanitation, and electrical connections to the building.

Development of parking areas and external courtyards.

Construction of accessible pathways and ramps for persons with disabilities, ensuring every child can enter the center safely and independently.

Completion of all other essential external infrastructure required for operational approval.

These are not cosmetic improvements—they are mandatory requirements. Without them, the center cannot obtain permission to open its doors or provide services to the children and families who have been waiting for years.

Completing this final phase will enable the Association to relocate its services to the new center and increase its capacity from approximately 45 children currently served to up to 300 children and individuals with Down syndrome from the governorates of Ramallah & Al-Bireh, Jericho, and Salfit, providing them with a safe, accessible, and fully equipped environment for education, rehabilitation, and inclusion.

To make this possible, we are launching a campaign to raise USD 60,000 to complete the essential external infrastructure needed to put the center into operation.
