What is the International Day of Charity?
The International Day of Charity was established by the United Nations General Assembly on September 5, 2012, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of charitable work and promoting participation in humanitarian and social activities. This day seeks to increase awareness of the role of charity in improving the lives of those in need, encourages a culture of volunteering and engagement in charitable activities worldwide. It also aims to gather donations and provide financial support for humanitarian and charitable projects that assist people in times of need.
In our Islamic faith, charitable work holds a special place as it reflects high values and noble ethics. It is a means through which we express our love for God by extending a helping hand to those in need through various avenues of goodness, including:
1.Sadaqah (Charity): Regularly giving alms to the poor and needy.
2. Emergency Assistance: Providing aid to those affected by disasters and crises.
3.Volunteer Work: Participating in volunteer activities and community service.
4.Healthcare Support: Offering healthcare support to the sick.
5. Social Support: Assisting orphans, widows, and the disabled socially and morally.
